UEFA Euro 2016 charity single

Pr, Marekting & Social Media

Summary

I voluntarily undertook all aspects of marketing, PR and social media for a Euro 2016 charity single by a small group of genuine Northern Ireland football fans. I was also involved in the recording and helped storyboard the video.

Starting from scratch (with zero budget), I secured a highly prominent slot on the BBC’s The One Show, even performing as the show closed. We also appeared on Sky Fantasy Football Club and BBC Football Focus, as well as in extensive nationwide press, magazine, radio, social media and local press coverage from The Sun to The London Evening Standard, Sport Magazine, The Belfast Telegraph, The Belfast Newsletter and The Irish Post.

The video (by club member Shots.By.Hanvey) exceeded all expectations with a hugely impressive Facebook reach of 383,000 as well as 5,000 YouTube views.

Best of all, the single significantly raised the profile of our nominated charity, NI Cancer Fund for Children. It directly resulted them being chosen as the official charity of the Irish Football Association (IFA) for Euro 2016, helping raise well over £25,000 for this worthwhile cause.
